This recording took place in the living room, probably before Xmas dinner. The recording is especially good quality because Grandpa spoke very close to the recorder's built-in microphone.

His wonderful story-telling manner truly engages the listener in this recording. He gives three examples of how he could have become a millianaire but "missed the boat". This is one of the best recordings I've made of Grandpa and transports me right back to sitting in the living room with him 36 years ago. I was 25 years old at the time and a first-year grad student visiting them for the Christmas holiday.
