Candid conversation at 177 Bell Road, Scarsdale NY, early afternoon. This recording took place in the kitchen as lunch was being made. We hear the usual banter between Grandpa and Aunt Julia over minor issues. Grandpa had a habit of putting food onto people's plates without asking first, so Aunt Julias protestations are warranted here. If we just remember that Grandpa always knows best . . . This extended conversation gives a good look into their lives, with lots of stories told. Note that the battery was very week in my cassette recorder and started to cause the capstan in the recorder to slow down intermittently. This causes the voices to occasionally slide to a higher pitch. Towards the end of the recording when this effect became steady, I was able to compensate for it by lowering the pitch slightly with the audio transcription program I use. Duration: 44 min, 26 sec |
